Evaluation 1

What I have done with my masthead of my magazine is that I have made it stick out in a bright colour (red) this helped draw attention to my title of the magazine to show them this new magazine. It has been done in one colour like most magazines, I done this to get it looking as most as I could to make it look like a real magazine.

These pictures look like they are from a real magazine because each of the photos have a plain background which most magazines do so their is only focus on the model in the camera shot. The model i choose for the guitar I choose him because he actually plays a guitar so knows what to do, is look went well with shot because he had a hairstyle like Ed sheeran which he is famous for his music with his acoustic guitar so that's why that went well with that picture, he also has a similar dress sense as that musician because he doesn't wear something to smart or tacky, he just wears smart casual clothing which is good for him. The prop in this picture was the guitar, this showed that he likes playing music which in some magazines it does this. I have now changed this picture because it was not good enough, the model is not doing what I wanted it to do so have changed the picture to a better one to make the contents page look authentic.

The title I used was the bands name so people could recognise the band and want to read about it but i also included 'The magazine that's in!' this also tries to get readers to pick up this magazine and read it because its saying this is the new cool magazine that is in and if you are not reading it then you are not seen as 'cool'. The style of the Title etc is that it is done in black and bold to stand out from the bright background, the band's name has also been done in drop shadow just to give it that better effect.

My text again is in black to stand out from the background so readers can read it, the language that it has been written in also is formal which is easy for the reader to read. The start begins with a bigger letter size so it stands out and pulls the reader into the magazine to get him to read onwards this is a good effect because then you are getting people to read you're magazine. On my contents page I have changed this because it did not look like a magazine. I changed this because it did not fit the format of a magazine so I put it into three columns which is the format you need to do.

This shows music genre because this band is talking about punk which most bands play pop punk/pop rock music because a lot of the customers like this music, they are saying they are the villains of 'punk' which means they play alot of really good punk music which is making them villains. This helps with distinguishing what this magazine is because it is on the front page of the magazine which means that the magazine is suggesting it is that kind of genre of music for the magazine.

The layout of my magazine is like this because the title needs to be big and bold as it is in the photo, it is like that because it needs to stand out to show you what the magazine is. Underneath to the right you see that there is a shape with 'band stickers inside' inside of the shape, that was placed at the side of the magazine as to get you to turn over the front page to look at these stickers, so basically getting the readers attention to read into it more. The name of the band is above the models to show that there in the band that is being spoke about on the front page it also says below it 'band exclusive' which means you able to get information from this band and be able to see what they are doing. At the bottom of the page their is names of other bands which are also going to be in this magazine, that is there so people know what other bands are going to be in this magazine. The barcode is placed where it is on the page because on magazines the barcode is generally in the bottom of the magazine which is making my magazine look like a real magazine as much as possible. This front page has now been changed because it didn't really feel like a magazine and it felt like i could do corrections to it.

This is now what my magazine looks like, as you can see I have changed the layout a little but I've changed the picture because the other one didn't really come out at me, it did not feel like a amagazine.

My layout for the magazine was pretty simple, I got images of people and put them on to the side so people could recognise the models easily, I also put a little sentence underneath each one so you could see how and what each othe models were doing. I had numbers next to each picture to show which page you could read about each of these people if the reader knew about them and wanted to see how they were doing. The layout of the information on the contents page is into two neat columns to keep the page tidy and readible for the reader, it shows in these two columns what is featured in the magazine, interviews and what the regulars are just like normal magazines so this could look like a real one. The editorial is set at the top of the page in a big white box so the red writing would be able to stand out and be easy to read. The title which is 'Contents' is sticking to the same colour and letter size to keep it original and tidy through the whole magazine to give the magazine a good affect. I have again done changes to my magazine this time to my contents page which I have changed it significantly by changing all the pictures and moving things around to get it to look good.

This is the new improved contents page in which I swapped the way things are to mae it more presentable for when someone looks at it, The pictures have all changed but they work because the pictures background work with the contents pages background.
